Week 5 - Digital Typography Portraits

I found this style of digital media art to be very unique and powerful. Using varyious sized fonts a portrait is created. Some use different font types in a single portrait, others experiment with colour and most make use of the different sizes.

These two pieces by deviant art user dylanroscover are particularily impressive.

This one was titled "Burdened" and features US President, Barrack Obama. It contains 12,680 individual characters and illustrates the burdens and pressures Obama must deal with in his current occupation. It was commissioned by Time magazine and featured in their February 2010 edition.



This portrait of Steve Jobs uses typography found in apple branding and marketing with text based around the famous apple "Think Different" ad campaign from the 90's
